Many years ago carp anglers didn't take Shimano carp rods seriously, they
looked too pretty for most proper Carpers and some thought the action was a
bit on the wet side for that long whack to the horizon. However, the
introduction of the new breed of rods from Shimano has changed all that! The
introduction of the Catana, Technium, Diaflash and Antares has brought a
refreshing breath of fresh air to the Shimano range, who said big companies
don't recognise what the angler wants! This year has seen the release of the Hyperloop which has already gain much respect and sales have been remarkable, and the action and performance for the money quite stunning. All Shimano specimen rods are fitted with single leg intermediate guides (except specialist specimen models). Lighter than traditional leg guides, they have impact on the rods action during casting and fish playing which enable the blank to work to its maximum capabilities. These single leg guides are either Shimano Silicium or Shimano Hardlite depending on model choice.
